Medway Lions Tree Sale Begins
Trees, Trees and more Trees….wreaths, too! The Medway Lions Club will, once again, hold its annual Christmas Trees and Wreaths sale to benefit community activities and needs, Lions Eye Research and various other Lions charities.
Beginning Saturday, November 25, through the weeks leading up until Christmas, the Lions sale at Medway Plaza Shopping Center on Main Street in Medway will be open weekdays 3:00-8:00pm and Saturdays and Sundays 9:00am-8:00pm.
Over 1,000 Balsam and Fraser fir trees will be delivered the day after Thanksgiving from a tree farm in northern Maine. With the able-bodied assistance of the Medway hockey team players, the trees will be unloaded and stacked. Trees are placed in stands for customers to view upright. The trees range in size from 6-8 feet to the largest trees standing close to 14 feet tall. Tree Life, a preservative to keep the trees fresh, is also sold. Two sizes of wreaths, 12 inches and 18 inches, are also available for purchase.
Lions’ members are available to answer questions, assist in providing a fresh cut to the trunk and trimming branches, as well as wrapping the trees, and helping to put/tie the trees either on top of/or in vehicles. Lions’ members are also available to talk to if anyone is interested in joining the club.
The Medway Lions is partnering with the Medway Police Department program, “In Pursuit of Toys,” a holiday toy drive. The Lions tree sales site will be a collection site for toys for the police department’s holiday drive. Gently used children’s and adults’ coats and jackets can also be dropped off at the Lions tree sales site as part of the “Coats for Kids,” program. All coats are professionally cleaned by Anton’s Cleaners before being distributed to children and families in need.
